Common Questions About Scratch Off Stickers

When you consider scratch off stickers or scratch off cards, as a way to promote a business you usually think of off line businesses. However Internet business owners are beginning to promote off-line as well.

Regardless of your kind of business this type of promotion is unique and can be beneficial. You may have some questions as to how scratch off stickers actually work.

Here are a few common questions that do come up.

1. How do you scratch them off? A person can scratch them off our scratch off sticker with their fingernail or use a coin. They are very easy to scratch off.

2. How expensive are they? You can get 100 scratch off stickers for less than $7.00 with shipping included. Scratch off cards will vary depending on the size and the promotion you want printed. Generally 100 custom scratch off cards are less expensive to print than 250 business cards would be.

3. How big are they? They come in various sizes and can range anywhere from the size of a penny up to the size of a half dollar. We have small fundraising scratch off stickers, large scratch off stickers, rectangle scratch off stickers and heart scratch off stickers.

You can also get, circles, squares, hearts and rectangle scratch off stickers to put on your printed cards. It's good you can customize these to fit your needs based on the promotion you are running.

4. How long do they take to receive? It is always good to plan a little in advance, but generally you can receive your order in three to four business days.

5. What businesses should use them? Any business that wants to offer a unique promotion should consider scratch off cards. A scratch off card gives your customers a call to action and rewards them for their business. This includes Internet business owners, also. This is achieved by giving them a code to redeem on your website.

For example, if you have an Internet home business opportunity you could use scratch off cards to promote your business. You could hand them out your store, or distribute them at trade shows promoting your website or if you have a service business such as a restaurant; you can offer customers a free drink, appetizer or chance to win a grand prize.

This is a great way to keep your name in front of people and be a little different than your competition. There really is no wrong way to use them as promotions and you can be as creative as you want to.

Any off-line local business owner can use scratch off stickers. Retail business owners are more likely to use them than other types of businesses. Research has shown that ROI increased with customer interaction.

These are just a few of the handful of common questions about scratch off stickers or scratch off cards. In these competitive times it's always a good idea to come up with something to set you apart from your competitors in your advertising and marketing.

Set your goals when starting your business from scratch

When our scratch off sticker business was started there were a lot of things to consider. What would we offer our customers that other's didn't? How would we stand apart? How would we continue to grow?

All of these questions are answered on a continuing basis as we grew our business and set large goals with baby steps. This is how we've grown our scratch off sticker business. We now offer 15 varieties of scratch off stickers in an assortment of colors.
This article helps explain big goals in your small business:
Setting Business Goals-

When Setting Business Goals Think BIG
If you are considering starting up a new business venture in the near future, or currently own an established business, it is likely that you may not be sure as to what steps to take next in order to take your business further. When it comes to owning your own business, it is vital that you make goals in order to see your business flourish and grow to its full potential. However, the main issue which stops many business owners from thinking big in terms of their business goals is that they tend to focus on the negative aspects of goal setting. What if my attempts fail? What if I damage the current status of my business? On the other hand, what if you succeed in achieving your goals and realizing your business' true potential?

If you are unable to envision your business going further than it currently is, chances are it is unlikely that you will be able to achieve any big goals. It is understandable that any business owners will fear failure, and so will simply opt to not set large goals in order to dodge any great failure. However, as you see the years pass and your business cease to grow, it is then that you will realize that thinking big when drafting your business goals is one of the most effective ways in which to push yourself and your business to its full potential.

It is unlikely that we can immediately achieve any business goal we set out mind to instantaneously. Anything that is worthwhile takes time. However, by taking the risk to make our business dreams a reality and be realistic with our goals, we will have a higher chance of seeing this reality. One of the most effective ways in which to make your goals is to share these with someone else and make yourself accountable. This may be something you have already done, but for others, communicating their business goals out loud-no matter how small they may be, can be incredibly empowering and can motivate them more to try to achieve them. Many business owners make the mistake of staying small when drafting their business goals as they believe that smaller goals are easier to achieve. In some respect this is true, but with the correct determination, persistance and planning, you can achieve anything. This is not to say that your big goals will be realized in quick succession and without effort, but by continuing with the running and growth of your business, building on your marketing, advertising and so forth in order to achieve your smaller goals, then with time, your big goals will be realized. As you achieve your previous goals, you can create new goals and continuing to grow your business. However, be realistic. Making large goals which you know you will never achieve can dishearten you but stay too small, and you may be de-motivated.

So, how can you make your big goals a reality? Break down your big business goals into section which are realistic and will be achievable. For example, if you aspire to gain 200 new clients, break this down so that you will aim to gain 10 new clients a month, and build on this number as you start to achieve this goal. Changing your big goal into smaller, more manageable goals will make it easier for you to achieve, thus filling you with a sense of accomplishment and motivation as it is realized.

Setting big business goals can be a daunting task, especially if you are a beginner and you are starting from the basics. However, many businesses fail as they refuse to take the chance to dream big, showing how being safe can be just as dangerous as dreaming big. So, if you want your business to grow to the establishment which you dream and know it can be, don't be afraid to be ambitious, realistic and above all, don't be afraid to dream big.

Owner of a Hewlett Packard printer?

If you own a HP laserjet printer and have been frustrated that you can't use all the toner, even though you paid for it, you might be interested in this lawsuit against Hewlett Packard. Contact the court and let your voice be heard:

NOTICE OF SETTLEMENT

If you purchased an HP color LaserJet printer, you may benefit from a Proposed Class Action Settlement.

READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY. YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS ARE AFFECTED WHETHER YOU ACT OR DO NOT ACT. PLEASE CHECK THE SETTLEMENT WEBSITE AT www.HPLaserJetPrinterSettlement.com REGULARLY FOR UPDATES AND FURTHER DETAILS

The Federal Court authorized this Notice. This is not a solicitation from a lawyer.

• A Proposed Settlement has been reached in two class action lawsuits involving certain Hewlett-Packard Company ("HP") LaserJet printers. The first lawsuit (Baggett v. Hewlett-Packard Co., C.D. Cal. Case No. CV 07-0667 AG) claims that HP designed certain of its color LaserJet printers and print cartridges to prevent further printing after a certain amount of use even though toner remains in the print cartridge that could be used to print additional pages, that HP represented that certain print cartridges are "empty" and/or need to be replaced even though toner remains in the cartridge, that this technology prevented purchasers from using all of the allegedly useable toner in the print cartridge, from printing additional available pages and from using all of the printer’s functions (such as continued printing) until the print cartridge at issue is replaced, and that HP interfered with the right of purchasers to possess and use all of the toner in the HP print cartridges and/or to print additional pages. The second lawsuit (Young v. Hewlett-Packard Co., C.D. Cal. Case No. CV 09-00315 AG) involves different HP color LaserJet printers than those at issue in the Baggett lawsuit, but makes similar allegations and further alleges that HP failed properly to disclose that the relevant color LaserJet print cartridges include an "override" mechanism that permitted a user to continue printing as long as desired after any interruption or termination of printing caused by toner level in the print cartridge. HP denies all these claims. The Court (Honorable Andrew J. Guilford, United States District Court for the Central District of California) has ruled in favor of HP in each case, and each case has been appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In order to avoid the expense and risks of continuing the lawsuit, the parties agreed to a Proposed Settlement.

• Your legal rights may be affected whether you act or do not act. Read this notice carefully.

• If you are eligible, the Proposed Settlement may provide an e-credit for future purchases of printers and printer supplies offered at www.shopping.hp.com. Any e-credits received as part of the settlement can only be used at www.shopping.hp.com.

• You are a Class Member if you purchased, leased, received as a gift or otherwise acquired in the United States an HP printer that is listed here . See questions 5 and 6 here for further information.

• You are not part of the class if you: (a) did not purchase, lease, receive as a gift or otherwise acquire a printer listed here ; (b) are an employee, director, officer, or agent of HP or its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, (c) are the Judge of the Court in which the cases are pending or part of his immediate family or staff. See question 7 below.

YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES:

YOU MAY: DUE DATE:

FILE A CLAIM FORM This is the only way that you may get an e-credit. By February 15, 2011

OBJECT Write to the Court about why you don't like the Proposed Settlement. By January 4, 2011

EXCLUDE

YOURSELF Ask to get out of the Proposed Settlement. If you do this, you cannot get any Settlement benefits, but you keep your right to sue HP yourself regarding the claims in the lawsuits. By January 4, 2011

APPEAR IN THE LAWSUIT OR GO TO A HEARING Participate in the Proposed Settlement on your own or through your own lawyer. You can also ask to speak in Court about the Proposed Settlement. By January 31, 2011

DO NOTHING You get no individual monetary settlement benefits and you give up the right to sue HP on your own regarding the claims later.

• These rights and choices - and the deadlines to exercise them - are further explained in this Notice.

• These deadlines may be moved, cancelled or otherwise modified, so please check the settlement website at www.HPLaserJetPrinterSettlement.com regularly for updates and further details.

• The Court still has to decide whether to approve the Proposed Settlement. Benefits will be provided only if the Court approves the Proposed Settlement and after any appeals are resolved.

Custom Labels

Let Your Products Make Their Mark With Custom Label Applicators If you take a look at the marketplace today, whatever industry it serves, there are hundreds or even thousands of product lines that are offered to consumers every day. You can make it go away by making your product stand out with custom label applicators. If you are in the manufacturing business, your one recurring nightmare is probably of your product being overlooked for somebody else's even though deep in your heart you believe you have the best one out there.

Mark of Excellence
Just like every business man out there, you want your product to be a house hold name. You want people to look at your company as a problem solver and one that can find the right solutions. How do you do this? Of course, the best way is to have a very good product. But if you have this bit covered then what you really need is for people to see that you actually have something that works. Maybe it's time you consider what custom label applicators can do to help you.

Labels are not only placed in products to provide necessary information but also to help attract the attention of buyers. Take a look at highly successful products in store shelves. The first thing you'll surely notice is how they are packaged. Food items are made to look tasty just by looking at them. Tools are packaged in heavy duty boxes with flashy labels that tell you they're ready for the job. You can't achieve this by having an excellent product alone. You need to mark it so people will know even before they've opened your product. It's the power of custom label applicators. You can show people just how dedicated you are in bringing them high quality products.

Design for Success
Companies who have succeeded in creating a brand that people believe in all have one thing in common; their label designs are memorable and easy to recognize. Is it coincidence? Hardly. Products that sell are designed meticulously including their labels. Companies spend millions of dollars every year to constantly update the look and feel of their products. Part of that money goes to buying custom label applicators that play a big part in establishing a mark of excellence.

What makes these labels stand out? First, they were designed by professionals who know the product very well. Familiarity is the key in making a label that matches what the product seeks to accomplish. Second, the label machines they use have the capacity to print brilliant designs.

Getting the best equipment money can buy is one of the most important investments a businessman like you will ever do. Custom label applicators don't come cheap but you won't regret getting them for your business.

Start a business from scratch

The current trend is geared towards more home-based businesses. They require lower overhead and startup money- making them easier for entrepreneurs with limited funds to start up. If you are thinking about starting a home-based service business, here are a few tips for getting started on the right foot.

What is a service business?
Service businesses are those that provide help to others. This can be anything from mowing the lawn to managing business accounts. The basis of a successful service business is one that supplies a need. In your area, it may take some research to discover the top service needs and then figure out which one you can provide. Use those around you and try to fill a need. Around here we need a fast food delivery place, a drive thru desert place (who also delivers), an entertainment zone for the teens to spend time at. These are just a few examples of service businesses that are needed in my area. My mother owns a business offering residential and business cleaning services. What is the need in your community and how can you fill it?

Benefits of a home-based service business
There are several benefits to running a home-based service business. First of all, you can run the business from your home. Since you already pay a mortgage, utilities and car payments, the only thing you need spend money on now is the equipment for your business. And, if you are running a service that began as a hobby that means you probably already own most of the needed equipment.

Secondly, a home-based service business requires low overhead and startup costs. We alluded to the startup costs above and the low overhead means no employees but you. The key to keeping the overhead low is taking on only as many projects as you can safely and efficiently handle by yourself. Start small and then grow and invest your business. Every business I've ran, I've started small with one client, one service or one product.

Home-based service business options
As we mentioned, you can usually run these service businesses out of your home. Establishing a website for selling your services lowers the overhead even more and maximizes your profit. With the Internet as your potential customer base, the opportunities are endless for marketing and finding clients. Here are some home-based service options.

There are considerations before beginning any type of business even a home-based one.
1. Check out the local laws for registering and zoning a home business. Most home businesses require no zoning issues unless you will be meeting clients in your home and posting signs in the yard.

2. Small business tax laws. Now that you are a business, you are subject to different tax exemptions, deductions and payments. Sites like www.irs.gov can give you the information you need.

3. Set up a separate work space at home. This could be as simple as using a spare bedroom or den with a door to keep your work separate. If you rely on the telephone a separate phone line can be added. When a workshop is needed, consider using a garage or purchasing a large outbuilding.

4. Use on and offline marketing methods to find clients. This includes: viral marketing, newspaper and Yellow Pages ads, flyers, scratch off coupons, direct mailings, email marketing, and article marketing
5. Create a schedule to divide time between work and family. Balancing both is hard. Scheduling time and sticking to it means more gets done and no one is slighted. This is how it's supposed to be, in real life you will have interruptions and feel like you can't get it all done. Hang in there and get your schedule set and teach your friends and family that although you are working from home, you are not availalbe to chat, visit, or run their errands-unless you are running an errand service.

A home-based service business is an alternative for people who want to experience entrepreneurship without spending a lot of money in upfront costs. If you have a talent and can meet a need, consider a home-based business.

5 Tips to keep your direct sales team motivated

Motivate Your Team Using These 5 Simple Ideas

Looking for some quick and easy ways to get your direct sales team energized and active? Try these five simple ideas for motivating your team and you'll be amazed at the results you see in their increased sales and success rate.

1) Weekly Emails
Taking the time to create a weekly email for your direct sales team will pay off greatly in terms of added sales, team unity, and longevity of team members. Staying in contact with your team keeps them motivated and reaching towards their goal.

2) Online Team Chats
If your team is scattered across the country as many direct sales teams are in our cyber-age, holding a weekly sales meeting at a local restaurant becomes a challenge, to say the least. But that doesn't mean your team can't get together.
Instead of a local meeting, host an online team chat that will serve the same purpose. This will help your team develop stronger relationships, as well as keeping them updated with important information.

3) Training Tip Sheets
If you aren't able to prepare a full-fledged weekly newsletter or detailed email, offer your team some monthly, or bi-monthly, training tip sheets to help them succeed. You can do this in addition to your weekly emails if you are able. Your team members will appreciate all the business building help they can get.

Cover one training tip at a time and help your team learn to sell more, book more shows, promote their businesses, deal with difficult customers, build a website, handle rejections, and anything else you can teach them to better their business results.

4) Contests
Monthly or quarterly contests can be advantageous to your business and will  help motivate a large number of your team members. Look for simple ideas such as the most sales in a given period. Offer a prize, then let your team's ingrained sense of competition take over and make it fun. Send out a scratch off card for them to scratch to find out what they have won.

5) Recognition
While money motivates some people, and the sense of freedom in entrepreneurship motivates others, some people will be more motivated by simple recognition of their efforts and successes than by anything else. Let your team know you're proud of them. Use your weekly emails to share team members' successes such as a first party, a record-breaking sales week, a birthday or anniversary, etc. You might be surprised at the encouragement this provides.

There are any number of ways to get your team members excited and wanting to sell more. For starters, use these five simple ideas for motivating your team. Then look for more ideas that will work for your specific team members and put even more team-building ideas in place to boost moral, and sales, even further!

Marketing to Moms

The goal of any business is to make money. And, we’re not just talking about the short term but long term goals of increased revenue. To that end, many businesses are missing out on a multi-billion dollar market: moms. Marketing to moms is the wave of the now and the future.

Why are moms so important?

Moms are enterprising. According to BSM Media Inc., mom spending is already over the trillion dollar mark. That’s more than the budget of some third world countries.

Also according to BSM Media Inc., almost 90 percent of moms consider themselves the financial head of the home. Her husband may bring home most of the bacon but it is the moms who decide how to spend it. They shop for everything related to the household: kids clothing, appliances, electronics, outdoor furniture, accessories and home improvement items.

Any husband that shops for these things is going to consult their wives before buying them. Why? Wives do the research into these products to find the best on the market. Moms influence as much as 85 percent of the purchases for the home. That’s over 70 million women we are talking about here. It doesn’t get any bigger than that.

Think about all of the tasks that moms handle in a day. They take care of the housework, shuffle kids from school to sporting events to other activities, cook dinner and manage the finances. In order to keep everything straight, they employ a wide variety of technology. It’s not uncommon to see a mom sitting in the park watching her kids play while listening to an iPod or browsing the Internet on her iPhone.

Moms are also savvy on the Internet. The trend for many years has been moms coming out of the workplace and starting their own businesses at home to spend more time with their kids. To that end, moms have developed a network of blogs, websites and forums designed to teach moms everything from designing websites, starting Internet businesses, marketing to other moms and managing their homes all the while. Their buying power increased exponentially with their knowledge.

Manly mistake?

Traditionally the only products marketed towards women were household products and cooking items. This goes back to the archaic thought that a woman’s place was in the home. That has been a huge detriment to many companies as they are beginning to see.

Women and moms have made an imprint in the man’s world in many areas. Women are not limited to office jobs; they are CEOs and CFOs. They don’t just surf the Web, they are becoming entrepreneurs with widening influence over Internet marketing. Having moms shun your product because you are not marketing to them means they are also spreading the word to other moms across the world (via the Internet) and in their own communities.

The future

Moms are influenced by other moms. Several generations of moms are coming together to influence the spending habits of major corporations. In the future the trend will continue. As moms become more “connected” in the world, their spending will increase. No product is off limits to mom advertising.

Moms do rule the world. Gain the support of savvy moms with your products and your business will reap the benefits.

Motivate your Direct Sales Team

Finding the motivators that drive your direct sales team to achieve their personal goals will ensure greater success, for both your team members and you. As a direct sales team leader, one of the best ways to grow your own business is to motivate your team for higher profits.

People's reasons for becoming a direct sales consultant vary. Some reps may join simply because they want to receive a discount on the products they buy. Others may want a reason to get out of house and away from the kids. Still others join because they want, or need, to make additional money.

Some consultants will be self-motivated. They'll be determined to succeed whether you encourage them, or ignore them. Most of your team members, however, will need some motivation to help them reach their goals, while helping you reach yours.

Motivating someone requires discovering what they want and helping them to achieve it. One way to determine a team member's motivation is to ask why they joined your team. You can then provide ways to help them reach their goals and get what they want from their association with your group. That's what motivation is all about.

Let's assume your team members are motivated by more money. To help your members use that motivation, encourage them to think about what they might do with that money. Would they pay off some bills? Buy a new car? Save for the kids' education? Take a vacation?

If you can get your team thinking about what it feels like to have that extra money and how they want to spend it, you're well on your way to motivating them to work harder to earn it.

One way to motivate your team members to reach their goals is to have them write the goals down. Remind your team that if they don't know where they're going, they will never know when they arrive!

Hold monthly team meetings and encourage every member of the team to set a sales goal for that month. Then, have them write down that goal and post it in a conspicuous place in their own home. Your team members are much more likely to achieve that goal when they see what they're aiming for.

Contests are another great way to motivate your team members. Offer a prize to the member who has the most sales, holds the greatest number of shows or recruits the most new consultants. Whatever the goal is, encourage your team members to work the contest daily and send you an update on their progress.

You can compile the results at the end of each day, or week, and let the group know where everyone stands. Competition is a great motivator for some. Use it to your advantage and see your profits rise right along with your team members' success!

Be sure to provide a prize to the winner. A gift card, a free product, or if possible, an added percentage of profits.Give them a scratch off game with a prize underneath to keep them motivated and excited. The gift isn't nearly as important as the contest itself, but again, it will serve as motivation.

Keeping your consultants "hyped up" and excited about the company, the products, and being a part of your team will go a long way in helping to motivate your team to higher profits. Look for ways to do that every week, and your success potential will soar!

How Do You Get Your Customer's Attention

Whether you’re a graphic designer, small business owner,  hotel supervisor, direct sales consultant, restaurant or bank owner, you need your customers’ attention.
How do you get it? By offering your customers an incentive that rewards them in some way.   Just like Kohl’s, McDonald’s, Pepsi and Incredible Pizza, you can create customer excitement and increase the return on your investment at the same time!
How?  By designing a scratch-off game that has a specific call to action.
Examples:
Buy 1 burrito, get 1 free with a $20 order!
Get  10% off your next purchase of $30!
Free shipping with a $75 order.  Hurry!  Expires 9/31/10
These types of offers will grab your customers’ attention and make them want to take advantage of  your special offer.
Your customers want to feel valued and special.  They love using coupons to help them save money.  According to the Nielsen report, coupon usage grew by 27% to a record 2.3 BILLION Dollars!  So reward your customers by sending them a scratch-off coupon for their birthday, a store special or a discount on their next purchase.  Make sure to create urgency by giving them an expiration date.
Scratch-off games and coupons involve interacting with your customers.  When they get your card, they will scratch it to find out what is in it for them.  It will get their attention and will not go directly to the trash bin.  Everyone loves to feel like a winner.
How will you make your customer feel like a winner?

Scratch off Stickers Drive your customers into the store!

You can do your own scratch off promotions, just like the big boys do it. You've seen and probably scratched a scratch off sticker from JCPennys, McDonalds, or your favorite automobile dealership. These companies spend a lot of money on their advertising campagins, driving customers into their store. You can create your own scratch off card for literally pennies per hundred. Here's how:

1. If you have a relationship with a local printer, talk to them about making you a scratch off card, just like a business card. You would have your prize promotion printed on the card, and then use our scratch-off stickers to cover up the promotion.

2. Print them yourself by going to Office Depot or Staples and getting 110 lb cardstock or you can use the perforated cardstock. Use a business card template or one of our scratch off templates to get your started. It's really as easy as 1, 2, 3.

3. Order your custom scratch off cards from us. To make the order process go quickly, have how many scratch off cards you'd like to order, how many promotions you want to use, and what time frame you need them in. Most custom orders take 2-3 weeks after proof has been approved.

Scratch Off Stickers in your business

How can you use scratch-off stickers in your business?
Consultants and individual representatives can use scratch off stickers to create their own scratch off promotions. For less than $.05 per sticker you can get your customer's attention and seal the deal. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3.
First design your scratch off card. We recommend a heavy card stock found at most office supply stores. Use your favorite graphics program and design your card with your logo, phone number and prize offer. Once you've designed your card, print and cut them.
After you have cut them, apply our scratch off stickers over the prize offer.
Now you're ready to give them to your customers and see if they can resist scratching to see what they've won!
